What size and type of engine is the vehicle is equipped with? You can find this information on the emission sticker under the hood if it's not clearly marked on the engine cover. Generally, engines are identified by their displacement and type. Common examples include:  2.5 Liter 4-cylinder; 3.0 Liter V-6; 5.0 Liter V-8

Sometimes it matters when the vehicle was assembled due to mid year design changes. The manufacture date, along with vehicle weight, tire and other information, can usually be found on a sticker somewhere inside the driver's door jam.

The VIN is an 11 - 17 character, alpha-numeric code that can be used to identify the vehicle and all it's original equipment. You can find it on a plate, mounted on the top, left side of the dashboard, and visible through the windshield.
